This Website Is One Mile Long

But can you scroll the whole thing?

The idea is simple: Translate virtual space into real life, physical distance. Ninety-six pixels for every inch, precisely, painstakingly ticked off on a website that just lets you scroll for one mile. That's 5,280 feet, 1,760 yards, 1,609 meters. It's called—what else?— One Mile Scroll.

I have no idea how long it would take to scroll the whole thing and I'm not about to try, or at least I don't think I will. But if you're setting out, you'll see guideposts along the way. You've got your newborn baby at 1 ft 8.5 in (52 cm), or 2000 pixels; the Strabane TV mast in County Tyrone, Ireland, at 1,002 ft 4 in (305 m), or 1,154,711 px; the Eiffel Tower at 986 ft (301 m), or 1,224,576 px; and, for all you gadgeteers heading to Las Vegas next week for CES, the Stratosphere Tower at 1,149 ft (350 m), or 1,323,667 px. (You can also plug in your own guidepost, a very-tall-thing of your choosing. So, that's fun.)

And then, finally, the summit: Denver, Colorado. High country.

If that wasn't enough, head over to The World's Highest Website for about 11.77 miles (18.94 kilometers) of scrolling pleasure.
