This Parody of the New MacBook Pro Is a Little Too Real

"Need a MacBook Pro? Like pro pro? Like needs an adaptor for everything pro?"

Responses to the new MacBook Pro have been underwhelming at best. Without the key features that prior versions of the MacBook Pros had, the new Apple product is "unsatisfyingly not pro," as this parody ad from YouTube tech channel Iggyhopper puts it.

"Need a MacBook Pro?" the video teases. "Like pro pro? Like needs an adaptor for everything pro?" That's right, because the new MacBook Pro has four USB Type-C ports, which means you'll need to buy an adapter to plug in your iPhone or anything else that requires a regular old USB, called the USB 2.0, port. "Adapt seamlessly between all your Apple adapters," the ad mocks.

It's clear the video is playing straight to our emotions. "The saddest part is that no matter how overpriced and underpowered these things are, people will keep buying them and all the stupid adapters, dongles, and other nonsense designed to scam money out of people just because it's from Apple," one person commented on the parody. "It's a brilliant idea, if you think about it. Remove something everybody uses, charge extra for some sort of adapter and call it 'innovation.'"

So what else does the new MacBook Pro lack? Among other things the parody quips about: the charger isn't magnetic, it has no HDMI or DisplayPort for VR, no SD card for photos and videos, a "low quality" 720p (1280x720 pixels) front-facing camera, and a maximum memory of only 16 gigabits.

"I give up," the new MacBook Pro says robotically. Now the question is, will all Apple's loyal, disappointed customers give up, too?
