MIDI-sync Your Schedule To Attend In/Out Fest Tonight

Like its circuitbending cousin Bent Festival, In/Out Fest inhabits the electronic music fringe of handmade synthesizers, hacked videogame consoles and more custom MIDI controllers than you can shake a Arduino-compatible stick at. If your senses get tickled by misbehaving computers and custom instruments making sights and sounds both bizarre and sublime, In/Out is your jam.

In addition to workshops that teach everything from Kinect-hacking to making virtually any piece of musical matter compatible with Ableton Live, there are a few notable performers lined up for this year’s fest. Bit Shifter, a luminary of New York City’s chiptune scene, and Daedelus, the always-charming combination house DJ / Victorian-era dandy, will join a lineup of artists from as far away as Switzerland and Australia and as close as a couple stops over on the L train.
