Have you ever wanted to get punched in the chest by Frieza 700 times in full, immersive, virtual reality? Well, buddy, I have good news for you!Bandai Namco has announced that it will be opening up Japan's 'largest VR entertainment facility' in Shinjuku, a dense entertainment ward in Tokyo. VR ZONE SHINJUKU opens this month with a fleet of HTC Vives, motion chairs and original VR simulations, like a flying fantasy bike and running from dinosaurs. The arcade will also have games based on Dragon Ball, Mario Kart, Evangelion, and Ghost in the Shell (the animated one, I'm sure).Before you book your ticket to Tokyo just to see Rainbow Road, Bandai Namco said that Shinjuku will be the flagship location for the VR venture, and that it's eying 20 locations worldwide. The VR ZONE will also feature dining and 3D projected Pac-Man. It sounds an awful lot like DisneyQuest, Disney's mid-90s misguided video game tech showcase that also featured VR and 3D projection and planned worldwide franchises. DisneyQuest also happens to be closing in July.
