There’s clearly already a surfeit of polar bear-related material urging us to combat global warming, but Greenpeace, Radiohead, and some inventive video production manage to squeeze a little more life out of the trope. Not sure how necessary Jude Law’s little narration is at the end—the irony implied by the timeless Kid A track would have done the trick alone—but it gets the message across.

The video intends to promote Greenpeace’s Save the Arctic campaign; Shell’s oil rig is en route to Alaska as we speak. Drilling is expected to begin by the end of the month.

Played out or not, polar bears are still the de facto mascot of climate change. Guess they yank on the heartchords more than decaying coral reefs or hellish wildfires.
