It Takes About 5 Seconds to Pick This Master Lock

How easy is that?

If you are trying to lock up your stuff with any level of security, you may want to steer clear of this lock model from Master Lock.

A 4-pack of the devices can be purchased for around $30 on Amazon, and the product has largely positive reviews. However, as YouTube user bosnianbill shows, the lock can be busted open in a matter of seconds with minimal effort.

In his series on overcoming security devices, he shows just how easy it is to get into the lock. Just putting pressure on the device and rapping the side of it with something hard like a hammer breaks it open completely. The hack doesn't even require a lock pick.

The rapping method makes it possible to open a pin tumbler lock without damaging it. The cylinder-based design on the device uses pins to prevent it from being turned. Applying force to the lock shifts the top pins and pops the lock open.

The video is a little longer than a minute. Getting through the lock take bosnianbill about five seconds.

"How easy is that?" he said.
