Sony Pictures Settles Lawsuit With Former Employees Over Devastating Hack

Sony Pictures has reached a tentative settlement with former employees over a class action suit brought forth after the devastating hack that it the company ten months ago.

When hackers breached Sony Pictures, exposing the secrets of the company's highest ranking officers, as well as some celebrities, they also released the personal information of hundreds of current and former employees. The employees wanted compensation for the damages they suffered with the spilling of their personal information online.

The former employees and Sony reached "an agreement in principle to settle all of the claims of the putative class against [Sony Pictures Entertainment]," read a court filing first reported on late Wednesday by Deadline.

The settlement now needs to be approved by the court, and there are still no details of it. If approved, it would bring an end to a lawsuit that combines seven different claims by former employees, whom were trying to organize a class-action suit.
