While you were busy committing god knows what sort of atrocities to your body and mind over the weekend, much cleaner festivities were unfolding in Clear Lake, Houston. “Shuttlebration,” folks were calling it and by golly if it doesn’t sound like the nerdiest goddamn thing to come out of Texas since Richard Garriott. Fairs, fireworks and various fun-filled shenanigans accompanied a replica of the space shuttle Explorer as it journeyed through the sea Friday towards its new home at Space Center Houston. To kick off the spaceship's arrival, there was a street party featuring exhibits of new technologies and vehicles pointing toward the future of space travel.
