Canadian Media Is Selling Citizens Short In a Nationwide Surveillance Debate

This story on the Toronto Star and CBC's unprecedented access and reporting on the RCMP's need for added liberties when it comes to digital surveillance has been removed.

The piece did not meet VICE Canada and Motherboard's reporting standards, and especially given our company's unique battle with the RCMP when it comes to press freedom, we fell short on providing a balanced analysis of the issues at heart.

We are currently working on a follow-up that revisits the more controversial aspects of the Star and the CBC's reporting that will be published once we receive fair comment from the subjects at hand.
