The First Trailer for the BBC's Movie About 'Grand Theft Auto' Is Out

A first look at Daniel Radcliffe as the founder of Rockstar Games.

The BBC just released the first trailer for The Gamechangers, a movie about the making of the popular, crime-themed video game Grand Theft Auto.

As previous reports indicated, and as we can now see in the trailer, the movie will focus on developer Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser, played by Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe, and his battle against Jack Thompson, played by Bill Paxton, a Florida lawyer who led a very loud crusade against violent video games and GTA specifically until he was disbarred in 2008 and faded into obscurity.

Given that the battle between Thompson and Rockstar Games really heated up leading up to the release of Grand Theft Auto IV: San Andreas in 2004, we'll probably see a lot of behind the scenes from that era, but hopefully we'll get to see a bit more about the origins of Rockstar, back when Grand Theft Auto was a smaller, 2D game.

The Gamechangers is set to air on September 15 on BBC 2 despite a pending lawsuit from Rockstar Games, which claims that the movie is misusing its trademarks.
