Swiss-Italian producer Robert Miles died yesterday after nine-month fight with stage four cancer, reports the BBC. He was best known for his 1995 trance single "Children," which is certified Platinum in Germany, France, the UK, and two other European countries.Miles won Best International Male Newcomer at the 1997 Brit Awards, and founded the Open Lab radio station in 2012, which broadcasts online and in the Balearic Islands of Ibiza and Formentera.Open Lab announced that Miles had died on its Facebook page this morning. "Robert was more than just an artist, he was a pioneer, a creator, an inspiration, a son, a father, our friend," the station representatives said.Miles released four solo album over the course of his career, the most recent being 2011's Th1rt3en, released on his own S:alt Records imprint.
