After accusations that he didn't try hard enough during his loss to Richard Gasquet at Wimbledon, Nick Kyrgios has come under heavy criticism. "I'm just shocked with what's happened," Kyrgios said. "I'm just really shocked on how people have responded and reacted and what they've said. I'm really shocked." Kyrgios was responding in part to former Australian Olympic swimmer Dawn Fraser's comments. Fraser said Kyrgios, whose parents are Malaysian and Greek, should "go back to where [his] parents came from." Kyrgios called Fraser a racist, and she's apparently not alone. Many of Kyrgios' "supporters" wore blackface at Wimbledon.

Novak Djokovic has also been criticized for aggressively demanding a towel from a startled ball girl during his win over Kevin Anderson. He says he will apologize.

Lionel Messi will take a break from the Argentina national team after continued criticism of his play for Argentina. Good thing Jurgen Klinsmann isn't coaching Argentina!

In the Gold Cup, the U.S. Men's national team beat Honduras 2-1. Clint Dempsey scored both goals for the U.S.A. In the night's other game, Panama tied Haiti 1-1.

Junior Dian, a 23-year-old soccer player, died on the field while playing for Tonbridge Angels in the 7th tier of English soccer. Cricketer Bavalan Pathmanathan has also passed away after a pitch hit him in the chest.

Preparations for the 2016 Olympics are behind schedule.

Citing motivational issues, Marcell Jansen, former German national team and Bayern Munich star, has announced his retirement. He's only 29. Jansen was recently released by Hamburg, where he'd played the last seven seasons.

Golfer Scott Stallings has been suspended by the PGA over a failed doping test.
