Made In A Minute: Yeasayer

Yeasayer talk about how weird it is to get recognized.

Rock n’ roll fame is a weird thing. One minute you’re scrambling to come up with enough songs to fill a set for 15 yokels in some dive bar in the middle of nowhere. Then you play

and all of a sudden people are stopping you on the street, telling you they dig your music.

That’s how it went down for Brooklyn’s Yeasayer. “The first time we ever felt like people cared about us at all, we were playing basketball in our shorts and it was February,” they told us. “A photographer came up and took a picture of us. It was in the New York Post.” Of course, the Post got Anand Wilder’s name wrong, and knowing them, they also probably also slapped some terrible headline on it like “Yeasayers Do Yea-layups In Park.”

Watch Yeasayer explain the weirdness of dealing with rock fame while you’re trying pick up a triple-double.
