Warren Sapp Fishes for Lobsters, Gets Bitten by Shark Instead

According to the charter captain, they just bandaged Sapp up, and he got back to lobstering.

We, as human beings, emerged from the flagellatic soup of the ocean to turn into land creatures for good reason. That first fish with legs had the right idea—why exist in a reality where full-toothed predators can attack you from literally any angle, when you can at least have the protection of the earth underneath you? Get the hell out of that pre-Cambrian bisque.

Well yesterday in the Florida Keys, former Buccaneers defensive tackle Warren Sapp learned the dangers and human limitations of going back to sea during a lobster trip in Florida, when he was hoping for a meal of lobsters, but was instead turned into a meal—or at least a snack—by sharks, according to Instagram and the the Tampa Bay Times.

"It's simple," charter captain Jack Carlson texted the Tampa Bay Times. "He was lobstering with me and a shark bit Sapp while he was grabbing the lobster. He's OK."

That's some good defense.

Carlson explained that the four-foot long shark (presumably a nursing shark) was also going for the lobster when it bit Sapp, adding that Sapp might need stitches. But, according to Carlson, they just bandaged Sapp up, and he got back to lobstering.
