It's every college coach's cliche: you're down 3-0 in the bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, you're at bat. Well, it happened.

It's every college coach's cliche: you're down 3-0 in the bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, you're at bat—now's your time to shine, Squeaky Pete. (Or whatever cool college nickname you got.) Well, Squeaky Pete—in this case, UC Santa Barbara's Sam Cohen—did exactly what you've always dreamed of, in Game 3 of a series against a heavily favored Louisville. And it looked just like you'd imagine it.

With one out (it's usually two in the typical college coach cliche) and the bases loaded, Cohen smashed the ball deep over the right field fences. "What're you up to today, Sam Cohen?" "Oh, I dunno, absolutely mashing the shit out of some taters for an insane walk-off grand slam to clinch my team's spot in the College World Series—that's all." It was enough excitement to even engulf the ump in the home plate celebrations. The Gauchos are headed to Omaha for the College World Series. Jubilation all around.
