Hobo's Soundz Imprint Will Only Release Unknown Artists Under Secret Aliases

Founded by Hobo—the Canadian techno savant best known for his work with Minus and releases on Hot Creations, and Diynamic—the eclectic Soundz imprint is not meant to be like other electronic dance labels. Only releasing unknown artists under secret aliases, Soundz could best be described as being like a playground for many artists. An outlet to give them the freedom to create something extraordinary and experiment freely. Ultimately, this allows Hobo to place music at the core of the project and not names.

Debuting on the Soundz imprint next week, X, Vol. 1 is a compilation showcasing a wide variety of musical styles and sounds. "That's the hook" says Hobo. "It's all in the name. I have too many different tastes in music to do just another techno label. And I really don't think the world needs another one of those anyway."

With music ranging from ambient to drum-heavy techno, X, Vol. 1 certainly speaks to that ethos and sets the bar high on what will be an exciting year.
