The Nighttime Industries Association (NTIA) have announced a series of club nights, talks and exhibitions under the banner #nightlifematters with the aim of both celebrating and protecting British club culture.

The campaign will kick off with a series of six nights in the UK's most iconic clubs, featuring performances from Seth Troxler, Craig Richards, Kano, Dusky, Lady Leshurr, Shy FX and more still to be confirmed. Several venues up and down the country are already involved, including Fabric in London, Glasgow's Sub Club, Haunt in Brighton, Hidden in Manchester, Birmingham's Rainbow Venues, and Motion and Lakota in Bristol. These nights will run alongside talks and exhibitions that aim to explore the value of Britain's clubbing heritage.

The campaign have also launched the website nightlifematters.com in a bid to give the "silent majority" a voice when it comes to club closures. The site will allow supporters to contact councillors and MPs directly, as well as giving them a chance to keep on top of the latest events as part of the campaign.

Alan Miller, chairman of the NTIA, said of the scheme: "In Britain millions of people go out every week and enjoy some of the world's best music, clubs and bars up and down the country. The "silent majority" that loves going out, socialising, dancing, eating & drinking, meeting new friends and getting inspired will now have the chance to have our voices heard - and make a difference. By supporting Nightlife Matters, a message is sent to local councillors & MP's that we want nightlife protected and celebrated, not destroyed.

With support from the everyone from Jackmaster to Defected Records, and the prospect of more public support than ever before, this could be exactly the public shot in the arm we need to save British nightlife.
