Here's Half a Century of NASA Climate Change Data in 13 Seconds

This super-short animation, put together with NASA satellite weather data, will scare the crap out of you.

The dates tick by like numbers on a stopwatch, the colors swirl from bluish greys to yellowish reds. In 13 seconds, it's all over. You've just watched 62 years of NASA meteorological data fly by, the rising temperatures and reddening continents spurred on by manmade climate change. And that's it. It's just data dropped onto a weather map. Simple. And pretty terrifying.

This is how much the world has warmed since 1950.

Climate Central has more on the genesis of the animation.
