Use Math to Make Your Gifts Look Less Like Trash

Counteract your holiday drinking with geometry.

I've given up on wrapping gifts. I know it's a tradition, having a jumble of boxes perfectly covered in colourful paper, festooned with neat bows, sitting under the tree and all, but the truth is I'm absolute shit at wrapping gifts.

The thing is, I put a lot of effort into buying gifts for people. I like to think of myself as a very thoughtful giver; I rack my brain for things that friends said six months ago about that one thing they like, and then I bring the house down with a fucking amazing present. That's my holiday tradition. Handing my carefully-selected gift over in a wrapper that looks like it was put together by someone who's had about half a gallon of rum (it probably was, to be honest) only does a disservice to my present.

At least, this is all what I tell myself while I stare down a roll of wrapping paper and a pair of scissors, because the simple fact is that I suck at wrapping gifts. God, I am so bad. I am a bad, bad Christmas Person.

Thankfully, there's this here YouTube video that shows you how to use some simple geometry to wrap your present perfectly every time.

Now get out there and show someone you care enough about them to adhere to the norms of a holiday that was pretty much invented by Coca-Cola.
