Twitter hacks are common, and they are usually harmless. But today, in a bit of irony, a Twitter executive’s Twitter got compromised.
Or, less likely, Twitter Chief Financial Officer Anthony Noto just got really into a Romanian sports scores website and decided to tweet the same (fake) link directly to hundreds of people he’s following.

Let’s bank on the first one, however.
Noto, who joined Twitter the company back in July, most likely clicked a bad link, much the same way many of your aunts and moms and less computer literate friends have. When I opened the links his account was tweeting out, Twitter itself warned me to turn around.
In any case, it happens to the best of us. But it seems to happen to Noto more than others: In November, Noto tweeted about possibly acquiring another company, instead of sending a direct message. Maybe he should… stay off Twitter?
