The Trailer for 'Terminator: Genisys' Is Out

Elon Musk, eat your heart out.

The trailer for Terminator: Genisys, the latest installment of the Terminator franchise, is finally online. Check it out.

It's sick, and, despite my assumptions based on its name, it has almost nothing to do with workout shakes for bros or As Seen On TV home gym equipment.

It's been decades since the Terminator first appeared, buff and naked, on the big screen and time-travelled his way into our hearts, mass murdering all the way. A lot of crazy shit has happened since then. For example, Arnold Schwarzenegger became governor, which is still insane to think about.

But some things have remained constant since the 80s. Namely, our fear of and obsession with killer robots, which Genisys looks like it will display in awesomely bombastic fashion.

The trailer suggests that Genisys will be playing the time travel card to full effect, with old Arnie confronting a younger version of himself and promptly blowing him to hell with a shotgun.

The re-introduction of the unequivocal best Terminator villain ever, the shape-shifting liquid metal T-1000 from 1991's Terminator 2: Judgement Day, along with the casting of an aging Arnie—who still looks like he could kick my ass—are welcome additions to what could have been a soulless rehash of a treasured franchise.

I mean, it still could be, but let's be honest: this trailer looks dope. Elon Musk, eat your heart out, because this shit looks totally unhinged. Which, as far as Terminator movies go, bodes well.
