The Latest 'Jurassic World' Trailer Shows You How to Train Your Raptor

The newest Jurassic World trailer features horrendous pickup lines, made-up dinosaurs, and some apex BD Wong.

Universal Pictures released a new trailer for Jurassic World this morning, complete with mandatory screaming children and ominous one-liners from BD Wong. Check it out above, but heads up—this trailer pretty much lays out the entire plot and teases many big action moments, so spoiler-phobes beware.

Judging by the sneak peeks released so far, Jurassic World is rife with some truly excruciating dialogue. But I can forgive a lot provided the film delivers on premium dinosaur content, and on that level, fans of the franchise clearly have a lot to look forward to with the next installment.

A mosasaurus eating a pterosaur? Check. A pterosaur flying away with some random mom? Check. Genetically engineered mega-predator with Deep Blue Sea-style super intelligence and a badass name? Triple check with the the hulking hybrid Indominus rex, the movie's carno-riffic pièce de résistance.

But perhaps the most exciting aspect of Jurassic World is Chris Pratt's apparent oneness with raptors. The trailer kicks off with his character, raptor-tamer Owen Grady, describing his approach to chilling with his clever girls.

"It's not about control," he says, "it's a relationship based on respect." If only Robert Muldoon had learned these tricks in the original Jurassic Park, he might still have a face.

It looks as if the raptors of Jurassic World will be using their considerable wiles to help Grady out in his quest to save thousands of visitors from ravenous Mesozoic prowlers. This idea of allying the raptors with the human protagonists is pure genius, despite its extreme schlock value.

After all, if you're not excited to see raptors sprinting out of starting gates to race alongside Chris Pratt's motorbike through dinosaur-infested jungle, then I fundamentally don't get your brain. It's hard to one-up the epic raptor hunts of the previous films—yes, even Jurassic Park III has some good ones—but Pratt's Pavlovian raptors might pull it off.
