The Enormous, 1000-Plus Emoji Keyboard

Bringing back hunt-and-peck typing.

For those who wish typing with emoji on a computer was as easy as typing with them on a smartphone, programmer and "geek comedian" Tom Scott has built you an emoji keyboard. Well, 14 emoji keyboards, to be exact.

That's how many keyboards it took to fit all of the emoji from Unicode 8—including my long-desired middle finger, which won't be available until iOS 9.1 drops later this year. Scott has assigned each one an individual key, marking the keys with stickers to show which emoji they create. He's grouped them similarly to how they're grouped on a smartphone, too, to make your intended emoji easier to find.

Scott promises a how-to video is forthcoming, so if you have the space and the resources you can try it at home, or just see how he managed to connect so many additional keyboards to the same laptop.
