How else can Spotify fight back against the behemoth that is Apple Music? Invite the EDM kids to the party. According to the New York Times, Spotify now has access to the music and video library of Beatport, the largest EDM-focused music service around.

Considering that Beatport's portfolio also includes some of the largest EDM festivals globally, the move should bolster Spotify's nascent video biz. More importantly, considering just how much of a marketing force the entire Apple machine is, adding a whole boatload of serious EDM should benefit Spotify's cred with the youths, who have turned EDM into a multi-billion dollar industry. MOST importantly, all of this talk of electronic music seems like as good of an excuse as I'll get to put a DJ Rashad video in a blog post.
