Play 'Pac-Man' on Google Maps for April Fools

The levels vary by city.

Finally, a non-grating April Fools' joke that is actually worth your time.

Google has added an option on Maps to turn city locales into a playable game of Pac-Man. To get started, open up Maps and click on the Pac-Man button in the lower left corner of the screen and boom, part of your neighborhood (or wherever!) is magically turned into a Pac-Man level.

Cities where some of the streets are laid out in grids, like New York, Los Angeles and Miami are easier to beat. But locales like Washington DC, London and Barcelona where the streets are placed without rhyme or reason or more difficult.

If you want a true challenge, try Tokyo or Cairo. We're still trying to beat it.

We'd still like to see last year's Google Maps April Fools joke, a worldwide Pokemon augmented reality game, become a reality—but this will do for now.
