Japan's ‘Star Wars’ Trailer Has Footage We Haven’t Seen Before

“Hope is not lost today. It is found.”

Did you think we were done here? There were three trailers for The Force Awakens, released over the last year or so, creating a steady hype train for those of you itching to peel apart J.J. Abrams' newest and probably most awaited darling. But this international trailer, just released in Japan, has a few scenes we hadn't seen in the third one—despite Abrams saying the third trailer was the last bit of footage we'd see.

We get to hear a bit more from Rey (Daisy Ridley), who's a scavenger on Jakku, where the story starts, thirty years after the Battle of Endor. We get a glimpse of her meeting up with Finn (John Boyega) after BB-8 sees the First Order arriving in front of an Apocalypse Now-looking sunset.

We also get a new shot of Kylo Ren's hilted lightsaber coming scarily close to Rey's face, a brief glimpse of C-3PO and Princess Leia, and Chewie blowing stuff up, among more scenic shots of Jakku. A wizened looking Han Solo tells you that those stories, man—they're all real. A not-yet-seen, but fully CGI Maz Kanata, played by a motion-captured Lupita Nyong'o, whispers, "Hope is not lost today. It is found."

I've got the chills.

The Force Awakens again, releases December 18. In case you forgot.
