Hey Brazil, Motherboard Needs a Brazilian Editor

As Motherboard continues to grow around the world, we've set our sights on lovely São Paulo.

As Motherboard continues to grow around the world, we've set our sights on Brazil. If you're a strong editor and sharp, bilingual writer based in São Paulo, we want to hear from you.

Along with our publisher Thobey Campion and the rest of Motherboard's staff, I'm really excited to expand in Brazil. I lived in São Paulo in 2009-2010, and along with many fond memories of the city—feijoada at Ó do Borogdó, hanging out with the Gaviões at Pacaembu, and the caipirinha de frutas vermelhas at Bar Veloso—what's stuck with me is how nearly every person I'd meet would have some new awesome project or research to talk about. By all accounts, Brazil's tech scene is continuing rapid growth.

Add to that ongoing political and environmental debates of huge importance on the world stage—think the discussion about isolating the Brazilian internet or the Belo Monte dam—and it's clear why we see a lot of potential in Brazil. As for the job itself, the full job description and application details are available on VICE Brasil's jobs page. In short, I can say that we're looking for a journalist who's well-connected to the Brazilian tech and science world, is comfortable developing a new team of contributors and contacts, and who has experience working with both text and video.
