Here's What the Sunset Looks Like on Mars

Peace out, sun.

This interstellar sunset video will put your pictures from the beach to shame.

NASA posted a video to Vine last night showing what the sunset from Mars looks like—and it's quite the sight. The six second clip, compiled together from pictures shot from its Opportunity rover, shows a white orb setting over the dreary planet.

The sun looks like a gumball from Mars since it's 141 million miles away (versus 93 million miles from Earth). The sunsets are blue because Mars' signature red dust filters out the sun's bright colors. Opportunity is going need several Instagram filters to make it pretty if it wants to compete with #sunset.
