Enjoy a slice of retro with this ad for the Camerica "Freedom Stick," a wireless controller that supposedly worked with Atari, Commodore, Sega and Nintendo gaming systems.The commercial features dependably corny graphics and a Funkmaster Flex-like jingle, making it so perfectly dated it's almost suspicious. But the Freedom Stick is very real, I assure you. In fact, you can buy one on eBay for ten bucks.Camerica was a Canadian company that made accessories for other gaming systems, best known for distributing the Game Genie in tandem with their US arm, Galoob Toy.The wireless aspect of the Freedom Stick is heavily touted—the people in the commercial keep shouting "No wires!"—but the controller's infrared sensor reportedly didn't do a great job. The product's lone Amazon review reads, "Had one of these as a kid. They're terrible." (Two stars.)
