This Is a Video of a Guy Methodically Smashing Phones in an Apple Store

Technocatharsis at its finest.

This is a video of a guy walking around an Apple store—maybe in France? French media's all over it—and smashing some expensive phones.

According to the person who took the video, the device-smasher's weapon of choice was a steel ball from a French game called "Pétanque," which kind of just looks like Bocce, but what do I know? Anyway, it's completely metal and twisted.

It's hard to say what set this guy off since I'm pretty bad at French thanks to the Canadian education system, but I think it has something to do with Apple not agreeing to fix this guy's phone or reimburse him or something.

As I'm staring down at my own smashed phone screen, it's kind of hard not to feel for the guy, but also, what the hell?

As for what happened to the guy, it doesn't look like it ended well. Another video appears to show him attempting to make a break for it before he gets in a tussle with mall security.

Okay, happy Friday.
