Watch This Clump of Gak Barely Melt Under a Ball of Red-Hot Nickel

Need sound.

Ugh, get ready to question all those times you (accidentally, sure!) ingested Nickelodeon Gak.

Thanks to the internet, we know now that slimy and moldable is basically indestructible. Some home-grown engineer proved that by firing up a ball of nickel and placing it on a lump of Gak that was minding its own business. And, honestly, what happens next will shock you.

Did you see it? Literally nothing happens. The Gak doesn't melt, it doesn't bubble up and, most impressively, it doesn't shriek (well, it kind of shrieks—the noises in this video are amazing).

When the mad scientists picks up the nickel ball, the Gak looks like the remnants from a half-cooked Kraft grilled-cheese sandwich.

Except for some sloppy homemade recipes, the actual ingredients of Nickelodeon Gak is nowhere to be found online. So, the mystery lives on, but we're looking at you Marc Summers.*

*The host of Nickelodeon's Double Dare, who totally knew what gak meant.
