Apple Sends an Apple TV to iFixit, Punishes Them for Taking It Apart

What Apple give, Apple also taketh away, and no punches are held for one of the most esteemed Apple repair sites. Apple gave iFixit, a well-documented compendium for Apple repairs, developer models for the Apple TV and Siri Remote. Despite clauses telling them to not tear it down, iFixit tore them down.

Apple then revoked iFixit's developer account, which also pulled the iFixit app from the app store. The company stated in an email that iFixit's teardown might "hinder the performance or intended use of the App Store, B2B Program, or the Program."

For those of you who might need a mobile option for the site, the iFixit's website functions perfectly fine on a phone, and the company's been "working like gangbusters" to get it up to snuff.

And of course, this could have been avoided. iFixit could have played by the rules. But why agree to send devices to a teardown site, expecting them to twiddle their thumbs and just not tear it down?
