Amsterdam is a game about what happens to videogame characters who have fallen from grace. By reliving their glory days and battling their demons through drinks and camaraderie at their local dive bar, you will uncover the forgotten past of each fallen idol as they attempt to find meaning and purpose in their retirement. In the prototype we've prepared, you play as Coyote, an anthropomorphic hero from the 1990's who has to come to terms with his addiction to watermelons, in a three act sequence where he begins to realize he is completely defined by his boundless appetite for fruit.
We built this in just seven days for the Ouya / Kill Screen CREATE Game Jam. We chronicled the development on Motherboard, as a part of a series called "How to Make a Game in 2013." You can read more about "Amsterdam"
