Sometimes it just takes a bit of a tweak to see the latent beauty—or at least the strangeness—of a thing that might otherwise appear as noise or background. Such is the case with Cy Kuckenbaker’s “San Diego Study” series, the first of which compressed four hours of landings at San Diego International Airport into one mesmerizing 30 second clip. More recently, he’s been rearranging freeway traffic to similarly awesome result, compressing and rearranging traffic into unicolor columns.
