Smoothed-out, Trump-baiting Pittsburg kid Mac Miller is back. The 26-year-old rapper scrubbed his social media accounts and released three new songs by surprise first thing this morning. "Small Worlds," "Buttons," and "Programs," which you can listen to below, mostly do away with the sensual and sexed-up aesthetic of his last album, 2016's The Divine Feminine. "Small Worlds" and "Buttons" are still sonically laid-back and R&B-heavy, but Miller is in a more confrontational mood than he was two years ago, criticizing himself and bemoaning life near the top. "I know I probably need to do better," he slurs on "Small Worlds." "Fuck whoever / Keep my shit together / You never told me being rich was so lonely. "Programs," produced by CuBeatz and Cardo, has Miller over a more straightforward trap beat, and he slips into a Kendrick Lamar-like flow that he hasn't played with too much before.
