“Basel (About What Was Lost),” by The Holy Circle, brings you on a calm and hypnotic journey to a warmer place than you were seven minutes earlier. Baltimore’s The Holy Circle is the married duo of Erica Burgner-Hannum and Terence Hannum (of Locrian). The debut track builds in density throughout, as Burgner-Hannum’s layered vocals build over the ambient, humming soundscape created by Hannum. The group has a forthcoming 7” on Accidental Guest Recordings (Dark Blue, The Gotobeds, Technicolor Teeth, York Factory Complaint) and a couple live dates coming up, so check them out while the going is still early.
