With the jarring sound of a single declarative statement belted out in repetition: "I loop time, I loop time, I loop time", the performance piece Selected Ramblings begins its haunting audio and performance spectacle. Artist and creative technologist Adi Wiedersheim puts on a strong poetic performance with a typewriter as her instrument, replacing the keys with vocal exclamations and words.Shrouded in darkness, the haunting performance fills the vacant, soundless space of a venue in Downtown Brooklyn. As a rapt audience listens in on the stark recitation, the combination of Wiedersheim's physical interaction with the keys and her instrumental manipulation of the typewriter is enthralling.Wiedersheim is currently a graduate student at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU's Tisch School of Arts. Her project Selected Ramblings is an examination of the connection between thought and language. A video of the performance is captured by Tiriree Kananuruk and Ariana Vassilopoulou, with audio documented by Justin Peake.Watch and take in the entire poetic experience below:To see more video work from Adi Wiedersheim, visit her Vimeo page, here.Related:Artist Creates Vintage "Digital" on a TypewriterWhoa, This Projection Mapped Video is an Acid TripThree Artists Locked Themselves in a Museum for a Simulated Mission to Mars
