Fast in Fire, Easy in Transport — DOK-ING

According to the AP, the US sent two fire trucks to Fukushima to help with the situation at the Dai-ichi power plant.

Those trucks are being operated by Japanese fire fighters, who have joined soldiers in trying to keep the spent fuel rods covered with water, hoping to prevent large-scale radiation into the atmosphere.

But what they really need right now, are robotic fire fighting systems, like the DOK-ING MVF-5, pictured above.

The MVF-5 is unique remote controlled fire fighting system developed to fight fires in hazardous and inaccessible areas. It is designed to help fire-fighters to do their job in the most challenging and dangerous conditions.

Some advantages include:

  • Only one person needed to operate the system

  • Because of small dimensions, the system can approach areas inaccessible to regular fire fighting vehicles

  • World-class components such as a Ziegler water pump and Perkins engine are used
