Watch NASA's Big Announcement About 'Oceans Beyond Earth'

The agency will hold the press conference in Washington at 2 PM EST.

On Thursday, NASA is slated to hold a press conference to reveal some new discoveries it's made about "ocean worlds in our solar system"—potentially key to the search for life beyond Earth—at a press conference in Washington.

Though the agency hasn't given much away about its findings, they're likely to be big. Last time NASA held a major press conference, the agency announced it had found a bunch of Earth-sized planets orbiting around a star in another solar system. This time, NASA will unveil some observations it's made from the Hubble Telescope and Cassini, a spacecraft orbiting Saturn. According to the press release, it's made the "dramatic discovery" of a global ocean, somewhat akin to Earth's, on Saturn's moon Enceladus.

NASA will also be briefing reporters on it's upcoming mission to explore Europa, a moon orbiting Jupiter that houses a salty, liquid ocean covered by a thin layer of ice. If you're watching, feel free to shoot NASA any questions you have using the #AskNASA hashtag during the event.

The press conference is scheduled for 2 PM EST. Watch via NASA's livestream above.
