Watch Bruce Springsteen Mock the Trump-Turnbull Call By Playing a Cover of “Don’t Hang Up”

The Boss trolled the reportedly hostile phone call between US President and Australian Prime Minister.

Last night Bruce Springsteen taunted Donald Trump with a cover of the Orlons' "Don't Hang Up" after the US President's disastrous phone call with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

The Boss opened his set at Melbourne's AAMI Park with an acoustic cover of the 1962 pop hit.

Introducing the song, he said, "We stand before you embarrassed Americans tonight…. We're gonna use this [song] to send a letter back home." Watch the clip below.

Earlier this week, Trump abruptly ended a phone call with Turnbull after a tense conversation.

This isn't the first time, Springsteen, an outspoken critic of Trump, has weighed in on US politics during his Australian tour. In Adelaide on Monday he spoke out against Trump's controversial announcement to temporarily ban immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries.

"Tonight, we want to add our voices to the thousands of Americans who are protesting at airports around our country the Muslim ban and the detention of foreign nationals and refugees," Springsteen said to the audience earlier in the week.

"America is a nation of immigrants."
