Eff Me, Ray Bradbury: Sci-Fi Author Turns 90, Still Hates The Internet

Sunday marked the 90th birthday of seminal sci-fi author Ray Bradbury, a man who, with undeniable old-fashioned charm, has said some pretty nasty things about the Internet, calling it “distracting” and “meaningless,” just to name a few. It makes perfect sense after all—To Bradbury, who warned us of the dangers of anti-intellectual technologies when he penned Fahrenheit 451, the single-serving nature of most information on the web (this blog post included; sorry, Ray) must seem like a big digital load of trivial rubbish.

But what happens when one of Bradbury’s comelier, younger fans uploads a sexy tribute video in honor of his 90th birthday onto the very digital hub he despises? I guess it would be silly for most us to imagine a 90-year-old curmudgeonly Bradbury not at least cracking a smile at the more-than-suggestive lyrics and Britney Spears-esque dance routines that accompany “F*ck Me, Ray Bradbury,” a YouTube video made in honor of the author’s recently acquired nonagenarian status. Fortunately, a friend of Bradbury’s showed him the video and snapped a photo of his reaction (above), which doesn’t really seem to show any emotion in particular. His true thoughts on his lewd, internet-delivered birthday present will remain a mystery for now, it seems.

The aformentioned video is here, and is obviously NSFW.
