File Sharing Without The Internet

Limewire may be dead, but if you are in NYC you can still share files, and you don’t even need to connect to the Internet.

Aram Bartholl of Eyebeam unveiled his latest project called “Dead Drops” consisting of a few locations with USB flash drives embedded in walls and curbs with concrete. All you need to do is plug in your laptop, and you can copy the contents on to your own computer, or drop files off on to the embedded drive as shown below by Makerbot’s Bre Pettis:

What remains to be seen is what type of files people will actually put on here. How long until they get trolled and are filled up with autorun.inf viruses, or images of Goatse?
